It wouldn't be the
first time in which we saw Cory lace up the skates and wear the Team Canada
jersey. A mere 3 years has gone by since he last played for Team Canada
in the 1999 World Hockey Championships. A tournament in which Team
Canada went 3 - 0 in their preliminary round, 2 - 1 in their qualifying
round, and just losing by a score of 3 - 2 in the bronze medal game against
Sweden.
Cory led Team Canada in scoring, posting a very impressive 4 goals and
4 assists in only 10 games played in the tournament.
Actual simulation of what would possibly happen if Cory Stillman were to
play in the games.

With issues
such as the health of certain players on the current Team Canada roster,
and the performance of other players in the NHL that are not on the current
roster, it brings up an important question. Is Team Canada really running
at its full potential? Paul Kariya has an injured finger, which may
bring down his performance or possibly further injure his finger while playing
in the games. Owen Nolan has stated that his back is not 100%. Steve
Yzerman also has gone public about his uncertainty about playing at 100%.
Mario Lemieux has missed many games this season because of concern
with his health. Theo Fleury may not have the psychological game down,
as he has had problems with his temper in the past as well as this season,
and not to mention Eric Lindros and his problems with his knee as well as
being prone to concussion.
Some players are hot going into the Olympic break

There is
now the issue of other players who were not selected to be in the roster
for Team Canada at the Olympic games. Such players as Cory Stillman
who has had a great January and February, and Joe Thornton who has recently
been on fire, keeping close pace with the scoring leaders of the league.
Among many others, these two have been on fire as of late and would
make a big impact on the team. Considering both the health issues of
the current roster and the recent performance of some non-roster players,
it really leaves the question open to whether Team Canada is as strong as
it could (or should) be.
